Charters to Finland planned for Ukrainian workers
The Finnish authorities plan to transport seasonal workers from Ukraine by charter flights. At the moment, this possibility is being discussed at the Finnish Ministry of Labor.
Finnish agrarians face labor shortages due to the coronavirus pandemic. On farms, most workers come from Ukraine, Russia and Thailand. If spring field work is not carried out on time and in full, food may run out in the country, and agricultural prices may rise.
The Ministry of Labor is developing a plan for the importation of workers from abroad. The rules provide for a two-week quarantine at the entry of foreign workers.
